Wine has been produced for thousands of years…in Italy as early as 4000 BC and in ancient Persia in 5000 BC. Wine has been found so vital to certain cultures that it was incorporated into the sacraments by friars, monks and the centuries past Catholic priests of Spain, and it continues to play an important role in religion to this day. Wine regions, such as those in the prolific wine countries of France, Italy and Spain, are excellent places to partake in this deliciously fermented fruit…and so is New Smyrna Beach!
Let’s briefly touch upon some delightful New Smyrna Beach wine tastings…
- Flagler Beach Winery is New Smyrna Beach gem where you can wash the stresses of the world away with wine slushies (or beer or wine) on a quaint outdoor patio with a beachfront view.
- Or pair your wine with artful shopping at Off the Wall Art and Wine Gallery on the Causeway in New Smyrna Beach.
- Then there’s The Chalice off Canal, with Tuesday Tastings of two whites and three reds; and Crimson House, where delicious wine and live music flow and Sangria is often a staple on Sundays!
- Perrine’s Produce joins the wine tasting weekly fray with flair at its Port Orange and Ormond Beach locations. You can even enjoy fun food tastings at Perrine’s with unique treats like pineapple habanero dip or corn cob smoked bacon!
Don’t forget about New Smyrna Beach’s wonderful wine tasting events…
Wine lovers can stroll from venue to venue, sampling a nice array of wines along historic Flagler Avenue on the New Smyrna’s monthly Wine Walk. Hopefully, after the pandemic, the New Smyrna Beach Wine and Food Festival will also be in full swing. This amazing event offers over 250 wine and food pairings and all proceeds are donated to charity.
